Defence Industry Connection Program (DICP) is a South Australian Government funded initiative delivered by Australian Industry Group. It connects defence aligned organisations with high calibre undergraduate students from Adelaide University and Flinders University for unpaid structured, work integrated learning placements.

Who should apply?
- Australian citizens residing in South Australia.
- Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place at Adelaide University or Flinders University.
- Students studying a discipline aligned to defence industry needs, including but not limited to:
- Engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, software, naval architecture and nuclear engineering.
- Mathematics and computational sciences.
- Physics, chemistry and other sciences, including materials and nuclear science.
- Cybersecurity, information technology and networking.
- Business, project management, marketing and commerce.
- Other disciplines where a defence Host Company confirms a clear and direct relevance to the defence industry, as reasonably determined at the Recipient's discretion.
- Students eligible to undertake a credit-bearing internship or Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement as part of their degree.
- Students eligible to apply for a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), where required by the Host Company.
REGISTER WITH DICP
Register your profile to join the DICP applicant pool. From there, apply for advertised placements and access a scholarship of up to $7,500.

How to apply?
OPTION A
If you're seeking an internship opportunity within the defence industry, complete the following steps in the application process.
STEP 1: Share your profile to help us learn about you and your skillset
Complete the online profile and upload your CV and academic transcript. If eligible, you will be placed into the DICP applicant pool to be considered for suitable placement opportunities with Host Companies. Phone or online conversations will be held to understand your knowledge, skills and career interests to ensure alignment with the right Host Company.
STEP 2: After profile submission, apply for advertised placements
View advertised placements on our website and submit your application alongside a cover letter to address selection criteria. Project Officers will contact you to discuss suitability, alignment, and next steps. Should you be unsuccessful in securing a placement, you will be notified and retained in the applicant pool to be matched with relevant opportunities in the future.
